Benvenuti! We are a group of friends with a background that covers the south, centre and north parts of Italy that have decided to bring a very unique and traditional experience at Ecco Gusto Italiano.
Our philosophy is unique regional flavours and delivered through homestyle Italian cuisine and providing Toorak road with a culinary delight made with love, and delivered with thoughtful and friendly service.
We at Ecco Gusto Italiano, extend an invitation to indulge in the unmistakable magic of la dolce vita, where nothing is rushed, but all is perfected and the warm laid back nature of living is celebrated. It’s an invitation to eat at our table and celebrate simplicity.
Our name speaks for itself translating to "here is Italian taste" Ecco Gusto Italiano embodies sun-kissed vineyards and bustling trattorias, right here in Melbourne.
WHAT WE SERVE
Our head chef Claudio Fresolone is from the Amalfi Coast in Italy. He embarked on his culinary journey working as an apprentice chef at Villa Hotel Cappucini, Conveto. There he gained the necessary tools to work in dozens of kitchens across Italy, before setting sights on London and Switzerland to perfect his fine dining skills. He then served as Deputy chef at Hotel Pellicano, for two seasons (two Michelin star), and la casa degli spiriti (one Michelin star).
Clauido’s distinct take on Italian cuisine is a culmination of the experience he has gained throughout his career and his passion for creation. Reinventing classic Italian flavours and sparking excitement with each dish.
